RETAILER BOOK ORDERING & EVENT PROMOTION
Types of Events
Christopher is available for the following types of events and is happy to work with retailers and promoters to create a custom event that suits an individual situation. For a complete list of classes and workshops available, click here.
Short Free Lecture & Book Signing – If my publisher is sponsoring a book tour, or you are in my local area, I am happy to do free events on book topics and focus on selling books at your location.
In-Depth Lecture & Book Signing – For more intense topics not specifically focused on book sales. Events might include meditation, ritual or other experiential part along with a lecture, hand outs and question/answer sessions.
Day Workshop – A more involved workshop, from 4 – 8 hours including lecture, discussion and hand on application of material. Workshops focus on deeper, transformative experiences.
Weekend Intensive - Two or three day intensive, focusing on spiritual empowerment and transformation. My Witchcraft One intensive, based on the Inner Temple of Witchcraft book, is available as a weekend intensive.
Ritual – Wheel of the Year or Moon celebration for healing, transformation and empowerment. Rituals can also be a part of a larger workshop or intensive.
Private Readings/Sessions - Day of Tarot Readings, Past Life Regressions and Healing Sessions
Promotion
Website & Online – I will list the event on my own website, www.christopherpenczak.com, and send out a email reminder of events at least eight times a year. I also list my events on the Witch’s Voice website, www.witchvox.com, under their community events pages for the appropriate state. Often Llewellyn will list events on their website, www.llewellyn.com. If you know of any appropriate websites or mailing lists in your area that I can contact, please let me know.
If you have a website, I would be happy to trade links.
Print Advertisements – Sometimes funding is available, from my publishers or me personally, for special event advertising or joint advertising with the sponsor in local papers, particularly new age/pagan periodicals. If you have these resources in your area, please let me know and we may be able to work something out. Often events are listed in Llewellyn’s magazine, New Worlds of Mind & Spirit.
Flyers – My publishers, or I am always happy to supply flyers for events. Please contact me if interested in receiving them for your shop.
Compensation
Free Events – no compensation needed. I simply ask that you make sure you have enough books on hand for the event. If you do not plan on selling books at the event, I will be happy to vend books and CDs.
Split – I prefer to do a split between myself and the sponsor, from any class fees that are involved. Usual individual workshop splits are 70/30% in my favor, but that is negotiable for special events and exceptional promoters. I prefer the sponsor to set the prices because you know what is the most reasonable rate in your area and you know what will make the event a success for everyone involved – store, customers and clients.
Set Honorarium – Set fee based on the type of event. For non-profit groups, fund raising and college such compensation is negotiable and often waived.

You can order books from both companies or in one order from the distributor New Leaf. For special author events, you can order books directly from the publisher, with an easier return policy if you find that you have books left over from the event.
